Categorisation of conditions resulting in chronic lower limb pain in childhood.

About

The way we classify and talk about chronic pain conditions has changed. This has included the introduction of a new diagnosis 'chronic primary pain', where chronic pain impacts daily activities or emotional wellbeing but cannot be attributed to another condition or diagnosis. There is now opportunity for us to consider how existing conditions or diagnoses fit within this new framework. In this study, an expert panel completed a three round modified Delphi survey to classify 124 conditions known to result in chronic lower limb musculoskeletal pain in children as either chronic primary or chronic secondary musculoskeletal pain.
